Prologue：

It was evening, and a cool breeze whispered through the trees in the garden.
The next day a ceremony was being held to celebrate my third year reigning as the princess.
Even at this late hour the palace was still busy,
with people rushing around finalizing things.
But I wasn't one of them.
I was sitting on the edge of the fountain, sighing to myself.

（The ceremony's tomorrow, but—）
（I don't really know if I can show my best face as the princess, feeling like this.）

A few days earlier,
a minor thing had caused a misunderstanding between me and the man I loved.
The ceremony was almost upon us, but we still hadn't sorted things out.

（If I could just go back to that moment—）

My shoulders slumped as I whispered the words to myself.
I heard soft laughter from nearby, and turned to see someone approaching.
Robert：That was a big sigh. What's the matter?
Jily：Hi, Robert.
Robert：May I sit here?
Jily：Of course.
Robert sat down beside me and then turned to look at me, concern in his eyes.
Robert：Are you fretting about tomorrow?
Jily：Well, there's that too, but—
Jily：We had a fight. And... we haven't made up yet.
I didn't even need to explain who I was talking about.
Robert：I see. Well that explains your gloomy expression.
Jily：Yeah.
Jily：I just keep thinking,
Jily：if I could go back in time and find a different way to say what I said—
Robert：You want to go back in time?
Robert：Well, I suppose that would be one way to fix things.
Robert hesitated, then gave me a gentle, reassuring smile.
Robert：But I'm sure you and he are both feeling the same way right now.
Robert：I know you can sort this out.

（You really think he feels the same?）

Robert：So cheer up, okay?

（You're right. We can work this out. We always do.）

My sigh this time was one of relief,
and I smiled up at him, feeling a little better.
Jily：Thank you, Robert.
Robert：You're welcome.
Robert：But have you noticed how late it is? You should get some rest.
Robert：Tomorrow's a big day.
Robert smiled again, glancing up at the clocktower, and I followed his gaze.
I was startled to see that it was almost midnight.
Jily：You're right! Thank you again.
I stood up and curtseyed politely to him and then turned to head back to my chambers.
As I did, I glanced up at the starry night sky overhead.

（I wonder what he's thinking right now?）

At that moment the clock tower chimed midnight,
the sound reverberating through the palace.
???：If I could turn back time...
He whispered the words to himself,
and unknowingly triggered a very special sort of magic...
