Prologue：
It was going to be the first Valentine's Day since I'd been chosen to be the princess of Wysteria.
It was only a week away, and I'd been trying not to think too hard about it, and failing miserably.
I had a break between meetings that morning, and I took the time to stop by the library.
Leo had agreed to help pick out some books for me about politics so that I could study them in my spare time.
Jily "Thanks, Leo. I know you're busy."
Leo "Not at all. I'm just glad I'm able to help.
Leo "And you're such an eager pupil, Jily."
Jily "Well, I want to read as much as I can so I can learn how to do a good job!"
（I'm slowly getting used to life in the palace, but there's still so much to learn!
（I need to make the most of my spare time so that I can get really good at being a princess!）
I looked down at the books in my hands, eager to start reading them that evening.
But as I looked up again I noticed two maids walking past us.
（That's strange.）
They were both staring at Leo, their cheeks flushed, their eyes sparkling.
They both gave a quick curtsey as they saw me looking, but once they were past us I heard them both giggling.
Leo "Everyone's so worked up at the moment.
Leo "Still, I guess it's no surprise, with Valentine's Day right around the corner."
（Oh, right! Well that explains why those maids were acting strange.）
Leo "This will be your first Valentine's Day in the palace, won't it, Jily?
Leo "Is there someone special you'd like to give Valentine's chocolates to?"
Jily "Oh—um—"
A certain man's face flashed through my mind immediately.
But there was something still bothering me, and I'd spent so many days trying to decide what to do.
Jily "No, there isn't."
I shook my head quickly and gave him a smile that I hoped looked normal.
But he raised one eyebrow, an impish smirk crossing his face as he studied me.
Leo "Really?
Leo "Your expression says there IS someone, but you can't decide whether you should actually give him anything."
Jily "What?!"
His words were so spot-on that I nearly dropped my books in surprise.
I stumbled to a stop, hugging the books tightly against my chest as I stared at him.
Leo stopped as well, his eyes dancing as he turned to face me.
Leo "You mean I'm right? I was actually just teasing you, but—"
Jily "Leo!!"
Leo "Okay, okay, I'm sorry.
Leo "But if you really are considering it, you must be serious about him.
Leo "I can't help being curious."
（Well, now that you mention it, I'm never gonna make up my mind on my own. Maybe you can give me some advice.）
I hesitated, but despite his teasing, Leo's expression was gentle and open, and I decided I could risk telling him.
Jily "The truth is..."
