A new year has begun...
In Wysteria, a New Years party is to be held,
and the entire castle is in a flurry as the halls are decked and decorated...
Jily：I can just barely reach.
I stood on my tiptoes to try to arrange some decorations in a line on the wall,
when someone reached overhead to adjust them for me.
Giles：Princess, please allow me to finish this for you.
Giles：Our guests have arrived.
Giles was smiling sunnily down at me, and I came down from my tiptoes.

（Oh right. It's almost time to show our guests around the party.）

Albert and Byron had come from Stein on an official visit.
They said they wanted to see what New Years in Wysteria looked like.
Jily：Thank you.
Just as I was handing over the decoration in my hand to Giles—
???：Where are they?!
A panicked cry echoed throughout the ballroom, and I whipped my head around.
Albert：Just perfect. I can't believe this is happening now...
There was Albert bent down on the floor, searching for something.
Jily：What's the matter?
I ran up to Albert, who promptly took me by the shoulders and looked right in my eyes.
Albert：I'm unable to locate my glasses.
Albert：I took them off to polish them, but dropped them. When I went to pick them up—
Albert：I couldn't find them anywhere!
As he spoke, Albert's voice grew more and more frantic, attracting onlookers.
Nico：What the...
Leo：This is a complete mystery.
Albert：Now I won't be able to observe a thing!

（But where could they possibly have gone?）

Jily：Well, let's not waste a minute! We'll all help look.
I began to move about the room in search of Albert's glasses...

★Chapter 1：First Clue, A Squawk★

Jily：Well, let's not waste a minute! We'll all help look.
Everyone scattered throughout the ballroom to start looking.

（Now we've got everyone helping, so we should find them.）

Giles was next to me, and I addressed him.
Jily：Just to be sure, I'm going to go check the hallway.
Giles：Excellent idea.
I moved to leave the ballroom when—
Nico：Wait, Your Highness.
Nico：I'll accompany you partway.

＊＊＊

We searched all over the hallway but didn't see it. Then we came upon an old, disused room.
Jily：Would they even be here?
As I batted away spiderwebs, I made my way into the dim, dusty room.
Nico：I'm not sure, but we should check as many places as possible, right?
Nico said as he surveyed the room with me.
Jily：Oh—
The one candle I'd been holding went out and we were plunged into darkness.

（Yikes, now we can't see a thing.）

As I fumbled around, I bumped into something.
???：Are you all right, Your Highness?
All of a sudden, someone had caught hold of me—
A breeze rustled the curtains, letting light in, and I saw that I was in Nico's arms.
Nico：You're not hurt or anything?
Nico was studying my expression, and I blinked up at him.

（Oh, so it was Nico I bumped into.）

Jily：Nope, I'm fine. What about you?
Nico：Me? Oh, I don't know. It was soooo dark just now!
Nico：I thought maybe, just maybe we could have accidentally kissed!
Jily：What?!
Nico was grinning at me devilishly, and I felt my cheeks start to burn.
Nico：I'm just kidding.
He started to laugh, letting go of me.
But then he seemed to suddenly remember something.
Nico：Oh!
Nico：That's right. In the ballroom, I heard some sort of animal cry—maybe a squawk?
Jily：An animal cry?
Nico：Yeah.

（In that case, it might be—）

Jily：Maybe it was from—
Nico：If you have a hunch, I can be in charge of searching this room.
Nico：You should get going.
Jily：I will! Thanks, Nico.

（I'm pretty sure I know where it came from.）

I thanked Nico and headed for the door...

★Chapter 2：Double-teamed★

I left Nico and headed for the stables and aviary.

（If it was an animal cry or squawk, it's possible an animal or bird might have taken the glasses.
（And then it might have ran in here—）

I was checking under a bucket when the stable door banged open behind me.

（Who is it?）

I turned around and saw an unexpected duo.
Jily：Robert and—Sid?
Sid：You told us to look for the glasses, so I was just out walkin' around.
Sid strode up to me, eyeing Robert.
Robert：I happened to run into Sid and we heard a sound from the stables and came over.
Sid sighed as he surveyed the stables.
Sid：Someone must have it out for Albert to steal his glasses like that.
Robert：Hmm. I'm not so sure.
Rober interrupted the conversation, a pained wince on his face.
Jily：Actually—
I told them what I'd heard from Nico, but just then—
Jily：Ah!
A horse got spooked by something and began to buck around wildly in its stall.
The movement made a bucket on top of some shelves tip over and fall—
Sid：Hey!
Robert：Jily!
Both of them reached out an arm to protect me, ending up with me pinned against the wall by the two of them.
Sid：You all right?
Robert：Are you okay?
I looked up at one face, then the other, and nodded.
Jily：Thank you.

（That seriously scared me!）

Sid took his hand off the wall. It had gotten dirty, and he shook it out.
Sid：C'mon, no way those glasses are gonna be in a place like—
But then Sid cut himself off and paused.
Sid：Actually... I saw this loud bird fly out of the ballroom.
Robert：I wonder if that was Sebastian then.
Sid：Who?
Jily：Sebastian...

（That means—）

Jily：Thank you so much, both of you!

（I think I know where to find him!）

I thanked Sid and Robert and hurried out of the stables.

★Chapter 3：A Chatty Withness★

I left the stables and headed for Leo's room. The door was open, so I poked my head in.
Jily：Excuse me, Leo?
At the sound of my voice, Leo and Giles turned to look. They had been standing and talking.
When my eyes met Giles's, his widened just a fraction.
Giles：Stay very still, Princess.
Jily：What?
Giles：There is some sort of bug on you.
Jily：There is?!
I felt him brushing aside my hair and the barest touch of his fingertips on my neck.
Giles：It's gone now.
Jily：Thank you so much!
Giles had trapped the bug in his hand, but all of a sudden it flew out.

（Ah!）

Without thinking I scrabbled backwards, bumping into Leo who had come up beside me.
Leo：Steady now.
I was now held fast in Leo's arms.
Leo：I'm always happy to get a hug from you , Jily.
Jily：Leo!
Leo：You're bright red.
Leo was clearly enjoying himself, and Giles immediately leveled a sharp glare at him.
Giles：Do stop teasing the Princess, Leo.
Giles：Now, back to the matter at hand. Have you found the glasses?
Jily：No, I haven't. Actually, someone saw Sebastian in the ballroom before they disappeared.
Leo：Hmm. Sebastian's here.
Leo glanced at a chair, where Sebastian was perched. He flapped his wings.
Sebastian：Glasses—don't know—not—Sebastian.
Jily：I see.

（So it wasn't Sebastian.）

Just when I'd given up—
Sebastian：But—I saw. Saw—glasses.
Jily：What!
Meanwhile, elsewhere in the castle...
Albert：I can't see a thing!
Albert was bemoaning as he sat in a chair.
Byron set down the teacup he had been sipping from.
Byron：So you really don't know what happened?
Albert：I really don't. By the time I realized it, my glasses were already—
Then Albert broke off before shouting.
Albert：OH!

★Chapter 4：Overly Polished Glasses★

I returned to the ballroom, still thinking about what Sebastian had said.

（If he's right, then the glasses are here.）

〝Sebastian：But—I saw. Saw—glasses.〞
〝Sebastian：In—box. Decoration—box.〞

（He must mean one of the boxes full of decorations.）

I bent down and began to rifle through one of the boxes open on the ground.
???：There's no glasses if that's what you're looking for.
I looked over my shoulder to find Alyn and Louis approaching.
Alyn：We already checked them all. No glasses.
Jily：Oh really? But Sebastian said—

（If they're not here, then we're back to square one.）

As I gazed at the glasses-less box, I gave a little sigh.
Louis：I wonder if he can see just a little without his glasses.
Alyn：He said he can't see a thing if he takes them off.
Louis：Huh.
Louis murmured, bending down to meet my gaze.
Louis：Let's look for them.
At the same time, I felt a hand drop onto the top of my head.
Alyn：I'll look too.
I was touched by their kindness, and felt a smile tugging at my lips.
Jily：Alyn, Louis, thank you.
Just then, we heard voices coming towards us.
Albert：They might be here!
Albert had entered the ballroom, and he was shouting.
Byron followed at his side, murmuring to himself.
Byron：This is unexpected.
Albert's hysterics soon attracted more people.
Giles：What's all this commotion?
Leo：Oh, did they find them?
Sid：Jeez, this has sure kicked up a fuss.
Robert：That's great news.
Just then, Nico ran in and pushed his way through the group.
Nico：There!
