Prologue：
The dark sky overhead was filled with countless stars, glimmering and twinkling like tiny jewels.
I'd finished my work for the day and was enjoying a quiet dinner in the dining hall.
Nico stepped closer to refill my wine glass, a smile on his face as he glanced over at me.
Nico "It's only three more days until you leave, right? It's been ages since you had a vacation! I hope you have fun."
Jily "Thanks, Nico. So do I."
Nico "I've never been to the Lemaire district before. But the festival sounds like it'll be amazing!"
Jily "I know, I'm really looking forward to it."
The Lemaire district was on the outskirts of Wysteria, so I didn't get to visit it as often as some of the closer districts.
Every year in the middle of summer they held a huge festival over several days, and it was famous throughout the country.
My suitor and I were taking time off together to enjoy the festival, and we were attending in secret instead of officially.
（I'm so glad he was able to arrange his schedule to match mine like that. It really means a lot to me.）
I smiled to myself as I lifted my wine glass to my lips and took a sip.
Nico stepped back from the table again, but his eyes were sparkling with mischief as he said,
Nico "Do you remember when that viscount from Lemaire visited Giles the other week?
Nico "I happened to be in the room when he told Giles a very interesting story.
Nico "He said there's a secret, mysterious wine you can drink during the festival, and only then."
Nico's voice dropped a little to a conspiratorial whisper, and I found myself leaning forwards curiously.
Jily "What's so special and mysterious about it?"
Nico "Well, apparently they call it 'the Magic of Love'.
Nico "If you drink it, you show an entirely different side of yourself—but only to the person you love.
Nico "They say it's like being under a magic spell, so that's why it has that name."
Jily "The Magic of Love, huh? I like it!"
An image of a certain someone's face appeared in my mind, and my heart skipped a beat.
Jily "But why is it so mysterious, then? I mean, if they know what it does, and everyone drinks it..."
Nico "Not necessarily everyone can find it, that's the thing! They don't even know who actually makes it!
Nico "But every year there's people there, offering the wine to some of the people who attend. Maybe you'll get to try it, too!"
Jily "Nico, you're getting me all excited, and there's still another three days before I leave!"
I shook my head with a smile as I gazed down at the wine glass in my hand, staring into its depths.
（So if he drank it, he'd show me an entirely different side of himself?
（Does that just mean the wine itself is really strong?
（Or is there really some sort of magic in it? Something he couldn't resist?）
No matter how unlikely the story was, just thinking about it was giving me all sorts of ideas.
I giggled to myself as I looked back up at Nico, and I found him grinning knowingly at me.
Nico "So, tell me, Jily—
Nico "If you got your hands on that wine, what side of him would you want to see?"
