Prologue：
A cold gust of wind shook the leaves on the trees...
I was in the study, looking over some documents I needed to check for the day.
Giles had excused himself a few minutes earlier, but now he came back and strode over to me.
Giles "An invitation to a ball has arrived from a northern queen."
Jily "An invitation to a ball?"
Giles "Yes. The queen of that country holds a ball every year around Christmastime.
Giles "And this year, she's invited the princess of Wysteria."
Jily "That was very nice of her."
（A Christmas ball in a different country... It sounds so magical! I wonder what it'll be like.）
Giles "So you will attend, then?"
I was lost in my reveries for a moment, imagining what the ball would be like.
Giles looked at me expectantly, his tone of voice implying I didn't have a choice.
Jily "Y-Yes, of course."
Giles "Very well. I shall write back and accept the invitation."
He gave me a satisfied smile as I nodded back at him.
（Giles announced it so matter of factly I just ended up agreeing to it.
（But honestly, I'm not that familiar with this particular country.）
This country was even farther to the north than Stein.
I decided to go pay a visit to Leo after I finished my duties in order to learn more about it.
I knocked on the door to his study and he ushered me inside, inviting me to take a seat on the sofa.
Leo "Recently, this country has started to focus more on creating deeper international relationships."
Jily "Oh, really?"
Leo "Yes. They've always had a long-standing relationship with Wysteria.
Leo "But it was limited to a small group of nobles and aristocrats- there wasn't much contact between the actual royal families."
Jily "So that's why I've never been invited to their balls before."
Leo "Exactly."
Leo nodded with a smile as he sat down next to me.
He told me that this was the first time that royal family ever directly sent an invitation to royals of another country.
Leo "This country is known for being quote closed off and rigid,
Leo "but it looks like they'd like to open up relations to Stein and other neighboring countries."
Jily "What else is the country like?"
Leo "I've spoken with other nobles who have attended balls there before.
Leo "They said that the nobles and royal family there are very concerned with acting appropriately to their status.
Leo "And they value appearances and elegance very much, to the point where they can be quite critical of others.
Leo "So their impression of the country was that it was a very stuffy, haughty place."
Jily "They're critical of other people's appearance?"
Leo had a bit of a frown on his face as he told me that, and I felt my expression tighten.
Leo "Are you all right, Jily?"
Jily "Y-Yes, I'm just a little nervous now."
Leo "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to scare you. But I wanted you to be prepared."
Jily "I know, Leo. Thanks for telling me."
Leo "Let me know if there's anything I can help you with. You know you can always count on me."
I thanked Leo's for his kindness and quietly excused myself.
（This is the first time a member of the Wysterian royal family will attend a ball there.
（And this country is very picky when it comes to appearance and how you carry yourself...
（I'm really nervous...）
It had been quite a while since I became princess, so I thought I was used to balls and parties.
But this sounded like it was on a whole different level than any other ball I had attended before.
（I can't shame the Wysterian royal family, though.
（So I need to do my duty.）
I was determined not to embarrass myself or my title. Just then, I heard a voice calling me from behind.
??? "...Princess."
